Oh Where Oh Where Could She Be?

I don't seem to be starting out very well with getting postings up on a regular basis. I really haven't been doing much to post about either. I have gotten a few things cut out and ready to stitch up. I have gone to work. I have slept. Mostly I have been fighting the invasion of the little tiny monsters........sugar ants! So far their strategy has been better then mine, hide till I think they are gone and I put everything away, then come back when I am either out of the house or asleep! I am trying to convince my DH that we need to call in the big guns, and actually pay someone to take care of this problem. At the moment however he is still unwilling to admit defeat! Of course he is not the one who gets to do all the moving of things and cleaning up after every invasion, as I am sure you all already know. We have been free of the little monsters for 3 days now, but I think this time I will wait a week before I put things back in the cupboards. At least if they show up again I won't have to move it all out and wash it again!

As I am not very computer literate I have yet to learn how to get the pics off of the camera and onto the computer so that I can show you some project pics and some finishes. I will get to this. I can't even give you a link to follow to look at a pattern of what i am doing since I usually just do my own thing. I find following patterns very difficult, and prefer not to live with the added stress of attempting to follow one! I suppose I should learn to do this at some point.

There is one interesting little thing that has happened I have acquired a feather weight machine! It has not yet arrived as I bought it online at an auction. I am on pins and needles awaiting the impending arrival!

I Miss This Am I Crazy?

This is a pic of my son and DIL's mail box back in CT. You can just see the top of it! Of course they have had more snow since this was taken.Today I believe DIL told me they were having an ice storm, with more snow predicted for the coming weekend!
I have lived in Oregon going on 6yrs now. The part of Oregon I live in has had one fairly reasonable size snow storm in those 6yrs! I know I can drive to the snow, but I miss being stuck in the house and puttering while the snow falls outside, it always seems so quiet and relaxing.
Snow storms are one of the things I miss about living in New England!
Don't get me wrong I am sure Oregon has its good points, I have seen some beautiful countryside here, once you get out of town, but give me a break you have helmet laws here! I could see a lot more if I didn't have to wear the darn helmet!
Oregon is not really bad I am just homesick today. Normally this is the week that I would be flying back east to visit my family and play with the grand kids. Not happening this year, since I was there in August for a # of weeks. Yes I am pouting!

What Is It With Boys??

This is a pic of my oldest grandson, and yes that is ice all around him!  What normal person would cut a hole in the ice and jump in the water? And he wants a drivers licence! I am thinking that neither of these things are good ideas!
I actually have today off from work!  After I get everything returned to the cabinets from the invasion of the mini ants, and get a little sleep, I am thinking I may actually get some time to sew!  There are 9 more potholders waiting to be put together and quilted and binding added, then on to cutting out my table runner,it was supposed to have been finished in January! If life could be like Monopoly I would make sure to buy more hours for my days every time I went past GO!

One More Night

The week of work is almost over! YES!!!
One more night and then I can stay home and catch up on things.
I had been planning on moving around some things in my sewing room and cleaning out the spare room in the hopes of enlarging my crafting space....this will not be happening..DRAT!!
At 7am while getting things out of cabinets so I would be prepared to cook dinner when I got out of bed today.....what did I find..........ANTS................ICKY!!!
Things have been thrown away and others are in boxes on the kitchen floor. I have hopefully committed mass murder where the little buggers are concerned, but am not even going to open the cabinet and look till tomorrow.
The new plan for tomorrow is to empty all the rest of the kitchen cabinets, scrub them down then refill them.
I have managed to get my DIL's pot holders cut out and started I actually have one of them finished! I wonder how my son is going to feel about pink pot holders?

6AM Time For Bed

I know, I am as backwards as a person can be. Working from 10PM  until 6AM tends to eat up alot of your daytime and nighttime hours. Most days by the time I get home and settled  into bed it is 9 or 10 in the morning. Getting up 7 or 8 hours latter doesn't leave much time for doing things besides drinking coffee, cooking dinner and a short visit with the hubby before it is back to work. 
Can you tell I basically live for my days off!
These are the days I get to enjoy my crafting, in between the house cleaning, laundry, shopping, appointments and whatever else I need to take care of.
The few hours I have to devote to myself on these days I cherish! Weather I am actually sewing, cutting out a project or just sitting in my sewing room looking at the fabric, these are my most relaxing hours of the week.
Hopefully today's project for me to accomplish about blog learning will be to have mrunclefuzzy teach me how to download pictures from the camera to the computer so that I can show you a few more things.
Yesterday I bought some fabrics to start a half hex quilt and I have no idea how to show you what I found!
Time to say goodbye and go toss dinner in my favorite appliance, the Crockpot, curl up with a book and get some sleep.

The Very First Post

Well it has taken the better part of the morning to figure out how to set up a blog.
 It will probably take weeks or even months before I actually have the whole thing set up the way I would like to and understand how to work all the things that seem to go along with having a blog. It is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be.
In all honesty I am unsure of a number of things at the moment, how often I will post, what I will post about, how to do all the linking, subscribing , posting of pictures and other things that go along with this venture.
I am sure I will post about my hobby's, sewing, quilting, and motorcycle riding to name a few. I am fairly new to the sewing and quilting so there will probably not be much informative information however, I am sure at some point I will start listing links to this type of information.
I am also sure there will be photos and  posts about the motorcycle jaunts my hubby and I take. I tend to mail boxes, and boxes of fabric home from all over the country while we are on these trips.
There will most likely not be many posts about my family at least until they get used to the idea of being blogged about, that may take some time.
Since posting pictures is something I need to attempt, lets give it a try! These will be pictures of the first few quilts that I made.

Not one word about the the messy rooms in the background of the pics please. I never said one of my hobby's was house keeping!
